Story Telling

Today our Preschool Bridging program Teacher came for a visit. She brought a fun language activity for the kids. We used our Lakeshore playmat, linking cubes and added her animals and people. The children wrote the names of the animals down and told stories about them. We added Language cards to help promote their stories.

To add math to our activity a ruler was added. Both Josh and Garlin were very interested in measuring their enclosures for there animals. They learned how to hold the ruler and make sure the 1 was on the right side. He noticed the difference in the heights and lengths and learned what an "inch" was.An old friend Caleb visited today and Garlin and Caleb spent some time building this block structure to help the ball run down the track. They later added some blocks at the end so the ball would roll off the track and knock the blocks over. Pretty neat little architects.

Grinding Rosemary

This was a fun activity, the children pulled the rosemary from the branches then grinded them with the mortar and pestle. The aroma in the classroom smelled so wonderful. Great Sensory Activity!
