Lonetree Waterpark

With most families on summer break and not that many children at school, the kids and I thought it would be fantastic idea to cool off at one of our favorite parks today. We packed up our sandwiches, our sunscreen and towels and headed out to Lonetree park. This fun park has all types of water showers, shooters and sprayers. They chased water around as it jumped from place to place till they worked up an appetite. We ate picnic style on towels and then played on the massive playground. We headed home for naps and afternoon popsicles. What a terrific Summer day, dont'cha think? Check out the picture yourself.

Tommy was with us also but I was not able to snap a picture of him as he zoomed back and forth between water fixtures. You can see him some of the background pictures though.

We had such a swell time that Emma Mae was unable to stay upright anymore and in her drowsiness state was able to take this picture right before she napped on her towel.

Same with Landon he slept the entire car trip there, and at the water park and all the way home... and the entire nap time when we got home. Im not even sure he knew we left the house.

Picnic lunches are the best!

Preschool Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony

Meet baby Ryan Joseph

Finally we got to meet this cutie. He was born on April 24th,just 5 days before Landon. He will join our daycare family sometime later in the year. Ryan is so lucky to have a big big brother like Lucas.

Oh I cant wait for the boys to meet next time when there both awake. Well congratulations Kate, hes beautiful.

A special outing for Lucas's 3rd Birthday - June 13th @ 1pm - Antelope Pool!!!

Lucas mom has asked me to post this.

Hello all! I am inviting you all to a special non-gift giving (ha ha ha - seriously though!!) outing for Lucas's birthday on June 13th. We have decided to have friends and family join us for a couple of hours at the new Antelope pool which just opened next to the High School on Elverta. The pool opens at 1pm and it is quite an attraction already, so I suggest that you try and arrive on time so that you don't have to wait in line. Due to the fact that I am still adjusting to being the mommy of a newborn, I am really trying to keep this party more like a special play date without all the hoopla of a big bday party (decorations, party favors, thank you notes etc etc).

As far as a gift is concerned, we would much rather have your presence rather than presents!! I will be providing water, juice boxes, little snacks like fruit and pretzels and cupcakes so that Lucas can blow out his 3 candles.

I hope that you all can join us for a fun day at the pool!

Summer Break

Reminder: We will be closed from July 13-17th for our summer break.

Reminder

We are closed for Memorial Day this Monday, May 25th. We will re-open on Tuesday.

Luci last day will be this Wednesday. They have moved to Santa Cruz and have been commuting to Sacramento the last few months for work and daycare. Luci has been with us since she was 8/9 months and now is 3 yrs 3 months. We will truly miss her but she has promised to come visit. We will have a going away party this Wednesday at 4pm for her.

Oh my this is bitter sweet. As much as I enjoy

teaching and watching children grow in my care. There comes a point where they grow up. I am happy to announce that Josh is that much closer to kindergarten in August and that much closer to his last days here at Early Beginnings. Josh started when he was just 2 yrs old and was so tiny. He is now 5 yrs and beamingly tall and handsome. I will miss his helping nature and his love and affection he provided to all his friends and teachers.

Hamburger Tour Field Trip

We are going back out to Bishops pumpkin farm this time to go on a Hamburger tour. This special educational program provides a guided tour of a farm that grows all the crops needed for a hamburger. Even the farm is shaped like a hamburger!

• Ride on the Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm Railroad to and from the Hamburger Farm site



• Guided tour of a farm that grows all crops needed for a hamburger-



• including hands on activities such as grinding wheat into flour



• digging potatoes and slicing them into French fries



• milking a “cow” to get milk for cheese.



• In addition to information on each crop, discussion topics will include: “good” and “bad” insects; and amounts of water needed to “grow” a hamburger.



• Self guided tour of Weeland petting zoo and the farm animals who live there



• Play time in Farmer Bill’s Barn, the Tree House, or Coyote Mountain Mine



• Nutritious hamburger picnic (meets school lunch requirements)



• Hamburger Farm themed Classroom materials will be provided for follow-up lessons.

Emma Mae is turning 2!!

Emma Mae may fall asleep in the craziest places but she promises you would be the one to snooze if you missed her party. She'll even throw in crazy party hats.

Heather has asked me to post this since she has not been able to hand out invites during my Maternity Leave. The party is at our super fun Gymnastic place. If you are able to attend, please give her parents a call or email them.

Cant believe its been a year already. Seems like you were just learning to roll over and sit up. I hope I didn't miss any of your milestones while I/we are on break. You better not have started walking or popped a tooth into that toothless smile of yours. We miss you buddy. I hope you had a fantastic first Birthday with your family. We miss you baby bruddah!
